What is Play Therapy and SandPlay Therapy?
What is Play Therapy?
Play Therapy is a mode of therapy that helps children understand painful experiences and upsetting feelings, suitable for children age 4-12 years old. As play is a child’s natural form of expression, it can allow them communicate at their own level without having to put it into words. Play allows the child to release needs, fears and wishes.
What is Sandplay Therapy?
Sandplay therapy is a method where the client creates a three-dimensional picture with miniature figures in the sandtray. This is a mainly non-verbal therapy that works gently to bring about healing and change. This therapy is suitable for all ages.

“Play is a child’s natural medium of self-expression” Virginia Axline
“Dear future parents. My little man was full of anxiety at school and at home and we got to the stage where we needed additional help for him and indeed for us. We found Ruth through a friend's recommendation. From the first visit we felt confident that Ruth would help him and our family. It's been a journey and our butterfly has emerged more confident, more willing to engage in activities and school and now has the language to express his feelings and concerns. She truly held us together in those difficult months and we trusted her process. We're very thankful to Ruth and won't hesitate to reconnect with her in the future if we need her.” Parent of seven year old.
